Have a look at conserver (conserver . com)

That's basically a daemon that grabs the serial, does the logging and - via its own TCP-based protocol - allows users to connect , disconnect, bump someone else, ...

It also nicely hides differences between consoles (serial vs. soft IOC, different terminal server ports etc.).

Maybe not an *easy* way, but definitely a *nice* way with other benefits.
