Re: Bug in DM using long records?

My humblest apologies for dm difficulties reported by Andrew 
(and acknowledged by others.)  Edd/dm were actually in use 
before the EPICS long records were created.  I fixed dm long
ago to support the long types, but the fix was done in a version
that has not been officially released with EPICS.  I neglected to 
put the fix into the release, hence the apology.  I can outline 
the simple fix needed so that people can rebuild dm at their sites
or I can build a statically linked copy for SUNs with the fix here.
Those using the 2.0 beta release should not experience the problem.
The work-around Carl Timmer outlined is a good one, if you'd rather
just wait for the next release.  If anyone wishes to have fixes 
before taking a new release, please indicate so.
