You are right, currently, the CaWave does not support the monitoring of the 
waveform record.

However, in the aps_wish ( a TK/TCL version of channel access) it supports the
monitoring of waveform record in HEX/BINARY/DECIMAL.  It is available as an 
extensions tool. The usage of monitor of waveform can be found in the simple 
document 
      /usr/local/epics/extensions/doc/aps_wish.doc.

If the document does not mention the monitoring of waveform record, you need get
the new release epics/extensions. 

An example of monitoring an waveform record 'chademowf2' in aps_wish is given below:

	aps_wish
	ezcasetmonitor chademowf2
	set WF(chademowf2)

The above 'set WF' command will print the current values of the wave from record.
