I would like to suggest that we move sf2db into the base distribution,
possibly in the dct subdirectory. The main reason for its existence is
dct, and so it seems strange to have it in a subdirectory of mdct. It
doesn't have any external dependencies (apart from lex/yacc), and so it
is seems silly to have it associated mdct which has quite a number.
I realise that the reason it is where it is is because of who developed
it, but I am suggesting that the benefits of having it available to
anyone who has dct outweigh any disadvantages.
Also, when dct disappears, sf2db will presumably do so too.
The files concerned are mdct/tools/sf2db*. The makefile of the dct
directory (or wherever it is put) will also have to be modified. The
modifications will not be a copy of the mdct/tools/Makefile.Unix
because this load libraries from mdct, which are not required
(USR_LDLIBS can be blank).
