We've been having a problem for some time (I _think_ we had it in 3.12.1 also)
that's been shoving us "'round the bend", so to speak. OK - so maybe all
it takes is a gentle push. But I digress.
When we do a co of epics from our repository, everything looks fine. However
after we do the initial gmake from base/ the sub-directory base/rec/CVS and
all its contents are GONE! This makes bad things happen when one tries to
do a "cvs commit" or "cvs update."
AFAIK I haven't touched the Makefiles in this area, and except for the
base/rec/CVS directory all else is as one would expect. Nothing else seems
to be getting stepped-on.
Has anyone else ever seen this? Can someone give me a clue? It's
reproduceable in our environment, which is really pretty vanilla, I
think.
It took me a while to figure out what was happening - by the time I'd noticed
we had a problem I'd done enough other stuff to where I thought I must have
done it, but in this test case I checked out the tree and the mentioned sub-
directory was there. After I did gmake from base/, it was gone.
Still clueless in Berkeley.....
