EPICS Base R3.14.3 is now available for download from the EPICS website, visit http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/modules/base/R3-14/3.php the for main documentation provided with this version.

Modifications include various bug-fixes and enhancements which are described in the Release Notes, the main new features since R3.14.2 being:

* The function generated from a .dbd file for registering record, device and driver support has been renamed to include the name of the .dbd file it was derived from. This requires a change to all st.cmd files.
* The debug output generated by setting the .TPRO field of a record now includes the name of the thread that is actually doing the processing.
* Environment variable macros are now expanded by iocsh and in the filenames of .db and .dbd files when using the vxWorks shell or dbLoadTemplates. A new file 'envPaths' analogous to the 'cdCommands' file is built in ioc boot directories on non-vxWorks architectures.
* A new 'variable' keyword is supported in .dbd files and a related iocsh command 'var' to allow device and driver support to provide debug variables that can be set from the iocsh.
* devLib is now supported on both vxWorks and RTEMS. Drivers and/or device support that use only OSI and devLib calls to obtain operating system services and access hardware can be made to work on both OS's.
* The epicsMessageQueue API has been changed, all receive functions and methods take an argument that specifies the size of the receive buffer.

Also read the Known Problems page for this release, there are unfortunately already some known gotchas with it.
