Even though it may not be related to your gcc problem on Solaris:
The latest released version of EPICS base is 3.14.6 - if you do not have
a particular important reason to build a specific version, you should
try to avoid starting something with old versions of things.
I would suggest switching to the latest release (available from the
EPICS web site at APS). It may not solve your gcc problems, but you
probably avoid other issues in 3.14.5 that have been fixed.
