Chris,

I suspect that you need to go into the configuration for building
your vxWorks image and include the standard C++ string library
module.

My intent was to avoid using the C++ standard string library, but
it appears that I have inadvertently pulled made references to it
when using standard exceptions. I see how to fix this, and I will
need to attend to this when I get some time.

Are you using vxWorks 6.0? If so you should probably also read
Mantis entry 179 (a build time issue).
