help-serial driver for linux

Dear all,

  I want to use a RS232 interface to connect a linux PC which EPICS is running on. Somebody suggest using  drvSerial / drvASCII ,but I don't know how to use it. Who can help me ?  Is there any other method to control the serial device ?
