Haven't tried any of this, but from a quick glance at the code in genSubRecord.c it seems to me that the output links are always "put", which explains what you see. The eflg is only checked in monitor() to decide which monitors to send for the fields VALA, VALB, ... Try a simple camonitor your_gensub.VALA. So if you leave your OUTA empty, but make someOtherRecord.INP = "your_gensub.VALA CP" you might only get updates from your_gensub to someOtherRecord when your_gensub changes value. -Kay On Dec 6, 2007, at 13:46 , John Dobbins wrote: I have created a genSub record, myGenSubRecord, for which the subroutine does nothing.
