Motor folk,
We've experienced a problem on an updated MAXv motor controller
Oms MAXv motor card #0 @ 0xCFFFF000, id: MAXv-8000 ver:1.30, s/n:000207, FPGA:B1:A6 BOOT:1.1 - Oregon Micro Systems
where, after power cycling the VME crate, the card would hang the IOC. We returned the card to the vendor and Pro-Dex claimed the card had corrupted firmware and that they had never seen such a failure. Has any else seen this happen to a MAXv?
We've also recently experienced another weird hardware event: an (expensive) TR-Electronic absolute linear encoder which was powered from an SSI VME module stopped working after power cycling the same crate. We've subsequently checked the crate power supplies for transients and ripple while power cycling and saw nothing anomalous.
Any ideas to explain these (perhaps unrelated) failures are welcome.
