I don't think VC++ 6.0 will work for building recent versions of EPICS base. I upgraded a while ago to Visual Studio .NET 2003 (which is VC++ 7.1), and that works OK, at least for EPICS 3.14.8.2. I have not tried 3.14.9 yet.
