Emmanuel,
You can't. If a link's initial value is not entirely numeric,
EPICS will treat it as a PV name, rather than as a constant value
with which to initialize the value field associated with the link.
"Entirely numeric" means "completely eaten by strtol() or epicsStrtod()",
according to dbStaticLib.c's dbPutString().
