Sorry for the thread hijack. Although I'm quite impressed with the
epicsqt library, I also like working with Python and I was going to ask
if you have looked into pyepics?

I recently used pyepics[1] & wxPython to build this GUI:

which is 838 lines of (mostly very readable) Python across several
modules. The associated EPICS database has 969 records in total.
If you like to work with Python and you haven't tried it out, I'd
recommend that you give it a shot. :)
(At the same time, if you have success integrating epicsqt with Python,
then I'd be very interested to hear about that as well.)

[1] Admittedly, some of this UI uses pyepics components that I added
myself, and these are not yet in a release - they can be found in the
'angus' branch on github.
