In general you don't need to know what changed.
If the record calls a device support function, then the device support function should just access the current fields in the record and do what it is requested to do (write a new value, read a new value, etc.)
You have been posting a number of questions which are quite specific, and indicate that you are just learning EPICS.
- Writing a new record type
- Writing device support
I think it may be more useful to write a message that says what you are actually trying to do, and get advice from the community on the best way to do that.
- What type of device are you trying to communicate with
- What do you want to do with the device
It may turn out that the best way to do this is not to write a new record, or even to write new device support.
You should try to "start simple", and only write device support or record support if a simpler solution does not work.

Subject: IOC device support
Hi all,
I have a trouble about IOC device support.
I have built a IOC application, and I should access to its PV in the client.
So Here is the question:
if I caput one of the PV's field, how could I know which field was processed in the device support? Just look at every field's value to check whether it is changed?
Does anybody know any better method?
thank you!
