Hi James,
We use a lot of Agilent rack mounted DC power supplies, such as:
http://www.home.agilent.com/en/pd-1655961-pn-N8735A/power-supply-30v-110a-3300w?&cc=US&lc=eng
They use an easy SCPI type protocol, ethernet bus. But also have RS232.
We also have TDK Lamda rack mountable supplies:
http://us.tdk-lambda.com/hp/
We're planning on standardizing on the Agilent models for our low voltage detector power supplies.
Cheers,
Matt

We are currently looking at a Sorensen 60-20E (which can supply 0-60V at 0-20A) which can be remotely controlled by RS232 or an analog input for ~£1,700.
