Hi Stephen,

The CA protocol isn't particularly simple so I wouldn't really recommend trying to write your own implementation even of just part of it. However there is documentation of the packet types and their contents available; if you do go into this you'll want to install the Wireshark plugin for debugging purposes, the one from Michael Davidsaver is probably the most up to date. Don't worry about mixing versions, I don't think we actually document the most recent additions to the protocol here yet anyway.
