I can't answer your your question myself, but I know that anyone who
might be able to is going to want to know what platform (OS & version)
you are running MEDM on, and if you are using a remote X11 display what
OS is running the display server. These kinds of error are often due to
incompatibilities between our older code newer versions of the X-server
software.
