I have used both variants:
1. xOPR wider than DRVx Device should be drive limited to a specific value, e.g. 785mA (was a filament heater of an expensive RF tube). However, for consistency reasons, the widgets on all panels for the standard 1A power supply being used should show the same limits as all other 1A power supplies, i.e. 1A. 2. xOPR narrower than DRVx While the device is technically capable of handling a setting of e.g. 0..12V, regular operators using GUI tools should use 0..10V and only apply 10..12V settings when talking to the device expert on the phone. Sliders will stop at the xOPR setting, right click or caput setting works up to the technically allowed limit. Note that by using defaults in the database file, you can define things like field(DRVH,"$(DRVH=$(HOPR))") which will set DRVH to $HOPR unless $DRVH is defined. Cheers, ~Ralph
