Hi, Xiaoqiang.  I just tried with the head of master (1f0a509) and I'm
still seeing the same issue: occasional double updates of the channel
being written to.  I'm currently *not* calling updatePVs() in write(),
but I'm still seeing the double updates nonetheless.  Confused as to
what could be causing it.  Again, it only happens occasionally, so it
seems like it must be a race condition of some kind.
