Hi Mark,
This 'make -sj8' command window cannot be closed from Windows Task Manager, nor by clicking Close/X buttons. I have seen this only on this IBM server.

I have always been able to recover by opening the Windows Task Manager, Processes tab, and killing any "make" processes. Very rarely there are orphan "perl" or "cl" processes that need to be killed as well. I have never had to log out or restart the machine.
