Is it possible to create a local enum PV in CSS that can be used as the PV for a Combo widget that also gets its items from the PV?

 

I have a PV in an IOC that is creating a list of strings that I would like to use to populate the items of a Combo widget. However, the list may have more than 16 items, so using a normal enum PV with the Combo widget won’t work. I would like to put the list into a local PV that can then be used in the Combo widget to populate its items. I have tried setting the items in a combo widget from a script, but it wasn’t behaving properly.
