No, because I am using top-level screens like ADTop.opi that don't require P and R to be set, they hard-code them for the displays they launch.

There is no need to compile medm for Windows. There is a nice msi installer for the EPICS Windows Tools (medm, command line utilites, etc.) here:

We have been using the MobaXterm program as the X11 server. It is very nice, with good ssh client and is available for free or for a small fee if you want support.

Hi, Mark!

Thanks for sharing your method. I'll try that. I assume you also set the P and R macros in CSS under Preferences -> CSS Applications -> Display -> BOY -> OPI Runtime? (Or one of the methods noted in [1]?)

I was thinking that CSS would be the fastest works-out-of-the-box solution for areaDetector and plugin displays under Windows, but now I'm not so sure. I was trying to avoid compiling medm for Windows and installing an X11 server on Windows. But maybe I'm close with CSS, and if I can accept the inconvenience of not being able to start a display from the command line, it will still be fine.

Thanks!

Lewis
