You need to edit the startup script and use a different database from the one used for TTL control.

So are you infering that I can achieve RS-232 control by simply editing the startup script?

I think the example startup scripts are for TTL control, not for RS-232.

There are 2 ways to control the PF4. One is via TTL control lines. The other is via RS-232. Which are you trying to use?

Subject: How to use synApps optics module to control XIA pf4 filter
Hi,
I am trying to use synApps optics module to control XIA pf4 filter. I have made the module and ran the code without error. SynApps xxx module could also be started to access to the PVs. However, pf4 filter did not work because I did not make any configuration about the ip address or serial port. I even didn't edit any code. I want to use local serial port to connect the host computer and pf4 filter. But I don't know how it works nor whether it works. I searched the startup script for hardware configure code like drvAsynIPPortConfigure or drvAsynSerialPortConfigure and I failed. So I would like someone to help me with the confusion.
Thanks a lot.
