Hi Mark,

I got the same impression.

My colleagues are also looking at some Canberra units. These are supported by the EPICS mca, right?

Thanks,
Hinko

Hi Hinko,

I looked at the User Manual for the MCS you were considering.  It appears the high-level software for it only runs on Windows and the Communication DLL is only available for Windows.  They do document the low-level firmware commands, but I think it would be a lot of work to write a driver for Linux based on these.

My software for the Amptek works on both Linux and Windows.

Thanks Mark,

I’ll see what my team mates say about that one.

Cheers,

Hi Hinko,

I don’t know of support for those.  If you are looking for a similar product with EPICS support the Amptek MCAs are supported.
