Hello Debian users,
As you might have heard, Debian 10 (code name "buster") has been
released today :-) At FRIB we believe that there is value in using
state-of-the-art operating systems that offer better security and come
with contemporary libraries and compilers. That's why we're celebrating
the release of Debian 10 by porting the Debian packages for EPICS Base
3.15.6 to this release.
As you might remember we aren't allowed to make our internal Debian
repository available to the public but I have published a simple hack
that allows you to build the packages yourself in a virtual machine [1].
Note that these packages have NOT been tested extensively, yet. We are
planning to do so soon. You can also expect to see updates for further
packages including:
- asyn
- autosave
- busy
- calc
- caputlog
- cmake4epics
- deviocstats
- devlib2
- epics-mcore-utils
- epics-snmp
- mrfioc2
- recsync
- regexasub
- seq
- sscan
- stream
I'll add them to the Vagrant repo as they become available. Please let
me know if you come across issues.
Thanks!
Martin
