The EPICS Collaboration Meeting will take place virtually this year.
From 19th October to 23th October 2020:

The program is still very preliminary. The whole thing is a new experience for us as well 
and we still have to optimize the length of the presentations and the necessary breaks in 
between. 

We want to preserve the liveliness of past collaboration meetings in the virtual world. 
For this reason all lectures will be live. This unfortunately shows the problem with the different
timezones of the worldwide community. We have aligned ourselves more to the western 
hemisphere.  This is evident from the lecture times from 16:00 - 20:00 CEST.
We will record the lectures and make them available for the early risers. The following morning 
there will be a one hour Q&A on the previous day's lectures. Always from 9:00 - 10:00 CEST.

The second part of the first day is especially for EPICS beginners. Here we want to show in 
a demo that EPICS can be used to realize smaller measurement tasks very easily. This session 
is mainly intended to win new users for EPICS. An important addressee are e.g.
the Max Planck Institutes :-)

On the second day there is a special "vendor day". This is an initiative of the EPICS Council 
to inspire the industry for EPICS. There will be more detailed information and a flayer from the Council.

We are planning to give a lot of space to short talks especially at this virtual event and are looking 
forward to many contributions from you. These are so-called Lightning Talks, i.e. lectures of about
five minutes without discussion. Of course you can also bundle several slots at the Lightning Talks. 
We will open the "call for abstracts" at the end of the week. 

We will run the meeting with the software BlueJeans Event: https://www.bluejeans.com/products/events
In the week before the meeting we will provide testing facilities so that the presenters can familiarize
themselves with the software. We will also provide a small booklet as a manual.
