Ø  I wrote the ASYN driver for the Prologix device you mentioned.  It seemed to work with the few devices I tried.

 

You mean the standard asyn VXI-11 driver, right?

 

Ø  For your Moxa issue, I’d suggest putting a serial line analyzer, or at least one of these pass-through things with LEDs to show the status of the assorted RS-232 lines, between the LAN/Serial and Serial/GPIB devices.  

 

I’ll try that the next time I am at the lab.

An inexpensive alternative would be an Ethernet to GPIB controller, such as this one from Prologix for $180.

I have experience with the Agilent LAN/GPIB gateway, but those are expensive and appear to no longer be available.
