RE: Drivers for Thorlabs camera, Gentec power meter?

Hi Scott,

 

I don’t know of areaDetector support for those Thorlabs cameras.  I have looked at them before when others inquired about them.  They have a few disadvantages to be aware of:

 

-          They are not GenICam compliant, which means that ADAravis cannot be used with them.

-          The vendor SDK only supports Windows, so you cannot use Linux.

-          They only support rolling shutter, not global shutter.  That means that each row of your image is acquired at a different time, they are not synchronous.  That may or may not be an issue for your application.

I have two inquiries about current drivers:
