Hi,

The 3 devices use static IP address within a private LAN.

IP address: 192.168.2.xxx

subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

The IP setting menu of the device:

From another computer in the same private LAN, use "ping" command.

Yes.

I ping all 3 devices continuously.

Only one of them replies to ping.

> What do you need to do to get back to the bad state?

I don't know.

The bad state happened twice in the last 3 months.

I developed an EPICS support module for the device (using asyn and streamdevice),

and it works. That is, I can remotely control the device via IOC server/PVs.

For some reason, the devices and the IOC server must be power-off for several days.

After power-on the devices and IOC server, the devices got into the bad state.

I don't quite exactly know the operations to get into the bad state,

because I was not there while the endstation scientists operating the beamline equipments.

But it seems to involve power-off/on the devices and unplugging/replugging the signal cable of the devices.

Can you give some more information:

- Have you configured these for static IP addresses or DHCP?

- When you say “accessible” how are you defining this? Have you tried pinging all 3 devices when only 1 is “accessible”?

- You can get it into a state where “everything is fine”. What do you need to do to get back to the bad state?

I have three NF CA5351 Current Amplifiers and use Ethernet/LAN to access them remotely.

For some reason which I don't know, they would behave erroneously.

Only one of them is accessible remotely, and after several seconds, the accessible one will change.

That is,

only no. 1 is accessible,

several seconds passed,

only no. 2 is accessible,

several seconds passed,

only no. 3 is accessible,

several seconds passed,
