Use of PINI is not a good idea as the records by default will be read
from the server and set when the connection goes up. Process before
doesn't work.

For output records this can be changed to write to the server by the
'bini=write' option at the output link. See

If this dosen't help, an epics database workaround as shown by Eric
Norum that triggers after the connection is up is a solution.
