With base 7+, the PV Access server can be included in the IOC in addition to the CA server.

In Phoebus/CSS, you can then simply use   pva://NameOfThePV for your combobox to read/write that one via PVA, which has no 16-state limitation.

Hey all,

usually, when I have a device with a configuration parameter where I can
select predefined values I use mbbi/o records for it.

Now I have a device where some of such configuration parameters have 20
possible values, so one mbbo does not work anymore (only 16 states)

Is there some elegant way to handle this with epics which also allows
this parameter to be easily displayed (e.g. with a combobox in Phoebus/CSS)?

I'm using base 7.0.6.1.
