Perhaps the previous one was based on yaml instead of json..?

dictConfig and the json parser used are features of the python standard library.
Perhaps the file you started from was developed against on older python version
which behaved differently?

I’ve successfully configured a PVA gateway (based on p4p R4.1.6) but I can’t get the logging mechanism to work.  The gateway itself is working fine.  I’ve reduced the config file to a simple one, but still no output is produced.

Does anybody have a working example of a JSON log config file in dictConfig format, or have an idea what might need to change in this file?
