The dynamic assignment did not change the outcome for me.

Compiles, but can’t connect.

 

One comment, the dynamic assignment has to go after when() to be understood by the interpreter, otherwise it gives an error.

It’s mentioned in 1.9.  https://epics.anl.gov/EpicsDocumentation/AppDevManuals/Sequencer/snl_1.9_man.html

So 2.1 should be OK.
