Many facilities are self-hosted and have their own version control software. And in such cases, it can be good for the facility itself to ensure that source code and binaries are available also when connectivity to the internet goes down.

What could be useful is to have public mirrors set up for modules as extensively used by the community as sequencer. Timo’s suggestion to host the docs on epics-controls (and I guess this is relevant for any largely used module) would also be an improvement.

The GitHub mirror under Michael's account that we currently suggest to use [1] also hosts a copy of the documentation at the canonical URL [2].

I started looking into setting up an "official" mirror under the epics-modules organization. That currently hangs at the darcs-to-git conversion not properly converting tags.
I would appreciate any help with that.

Cheers,
