Hello,
I have a particle counter that I can talk to via StreamDevice. Its laser
diode has a limited lifetime, so I don't want to operate it continuously.
Instead, I'd like to send an "enable" command, have the device running for
a configurable time (like 5min), then send a "disable" command and wait
for a longer time (like 55min) until the next cycle is started.
Measured data could be sent by the device continuously and parsed via "I/O
Intr" scanning. But how would I trigger the needed enable/disable commands
with a given duty cycle (instead of simple scanning)? While searching, I
found references to Timer Records, Sequencing Records and other interesting
things, but (having zero experience with any of these so far) I am unsure
which would be the best choice here.
Are there any recommendations or even some simple examples (this is
probably a pretty common task)?
cu
Gerrit
