This is very different than generating a VME bus RESET ... like the doodle board Mark mentioned does.  We (APS) have found it invaluable to be able to generate a hard VME Reset through the doodle board. Otherwise, techs would be called in to cycle the power (2 hour delay).

While we don't have an MVME 2700, every board I ever had to boot
remotely would reboot with a ^x (that includes boards as different as
hkbaja and MV5100)
