We are using vxworks 6.9 on 5500 board without any issue.

Yes, you should flash it with 6.9 version.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] MVME5500 with vxworks6.9

Hello, all.

I'm also struggling with searching the internet and checking the manual, so I'm leaving a question on tech talk.
MVME5500 model completed vxworks system boot. Jumper chose J8 flash0 and vxworks system booted.
But I have a question here. It becomes a vxworks system boot and there are commands for cpu, version, and bsp. Please see below.

VxWorks System Boot
Copyright 1984-2002 Wind River Systems, Inc.

CPU: Motorola MVME5500-0163 - MPC 7455
Version: VxWorks5.5
BSP version: 1.2/1
Creation date: Apr 27 2004, 17:31:50

In this command, does the version guide the vxworks version supported by the mvme5500, or does it show the vxworks version that I previously booted?

I set the st.cmd of vxworks 6.9 the same as the mvme6100 model.
[VxWorks Boot]: p

boot device : geisc
unit number : 0
processor number : 0
host name : host
file name : /usr/local/epics_motor/vxWorks
inet on ethernet (e) : 10.4.134.17:fffff000
inet on backplane (b): 0
host inet (h) : 10.4.133.179
gateway inet (g) : 10.4.128.1
user (u) : daqadmin
ftp password (pw) : pal#2016
flags (f) : 0x0
target name (tn) : test
startup script (s) : host:/usr/local/epics_motor/synApps_5_8/support/motor-6-9/iocBoot/SX_EH_motor/st.cmd

And I tried to run it, but it didn't boot and I kept getting the message [Vxworks Boot]:.
[VxWorks Boot]: @
[VxWorks Boot]:

Does the mvme5500 model only support version 5.5 of vxworks? If 6.9 version is available, should I flash the bootrom again?

I really appreciate of your help.

Best Regards,

Baeg
