Adding additional fields to be archived in "policies.py"

Hello again and thank you by the way for your prior reply to the 
question regarding the editing of .pb files.
We would now like to archive additional fields ("STAT" and "SEVR") for 
specific PVs, and are not quite sure as to how or where to add them.
Would it be correct to add them to the "policies.py" file that is on the 
highest level , e.g.  for our installation in the policies.py
 file located directly under "/opt/epicsarchiverap"?
