Hi Jesse,
The steps I use to configure an axis for BISS would be:
1. Set either reverse/forward limit according to requirements, OR
Set the absolute encoder scale so that the direction matches
requirements
2. Set either reverse/forward limit to match encoder scale direction
decided in 1 above, OR
Set absolute encoder scale to match reverse/forward limit
direction decided in 1 above.
3. Finally set motor direction to match limits/encoder scale. Prefer
using EPICS driver facilities over wiring changes.
The motor wiring should be consistent across installations.
