writing a value of a string PV to a waveform PV in another IOC

Hi,

What is the best way (without having to write anything more than EPICS database code) to copy the value of a string PV (stringout) hosted in one IOC to a waveform PV (char type) hosted by another PC?

I'm having problems trying to set the output link to a waveform PV name.

Those commands are not supported in ADPilatus. 

 

I just searched this Dectris camserver document for the string “retrigger” and it does exist.

Where did you find the documentation on the retrigger command?

 

I do see the documentation on the Tau command.  ADPilatus currently only reads Tau, it does not allow setting it.

 

However, you can set it via the OPI screens as follows:

• In the screen pilatusDetector.adl open the Debugging/asyn record screen.
• Change the port on that screen to camserver (if that is what you called it in the startup script).
• Open the More/asynOctet interface I/O screen
• In the Output/ASCII screen type the camserver command.  You will see the response in the Input/ASCII field.

 

I just tested this typing “Tau” to read the current setting, and I received the correct response.

Are there PVs that exist for adjusting these parameters? Alternatively, since I know the specific camserver commands, is there a PV I can use to manually send strings to camserver? I noticed that there is a StringToCamserver_RBV, which piques my interest.
