Hi Graeme,

By default, the quadEM IOC does not load an HDF5 plugin.  It does load a netCDF plugin, and I just tested streaming with that, and it works fine.

My list of things to do in quadEM is to change the IOC and medm screens so that it loads all of the commonPlugins from areaDetector.  That will include HDF5.  I will try to do that today, test it, and add it to the documentation.

Last week I did add a section to the documentation about how to do scanning using the TetrAMM as the detector in 4 different modes.  The current range on all 4 channels can be set independently, so it can be used to collect from up to 4 ion chambers or photodiodes, for example.

Mark

Subject: Streaming from quadEM to HDF5

Good morning / afternoon / day

I promise I have had a look at the documentation but did not achieve enlightenment!

Does someone have a guide someplace or some pointers on how to steam data from quadEM to HDF5 (or some other file) over a longish timeframe

My requirement is to record 4 channels on a BPM through a TetrAMM at e.g. 10kHz for maybe minutes at a time

I am certain that the answer involves some plugin configuration but I feel I may have stumbled into “advanced EPICS” without seeing the warning sign

Appreciate any pointers

For the record, getting the device working with EPICS and reading out (incl. FFT etc.) was a dream and it seems to work very nicely

Thanks in advance and all the best Graeme
