Dear all,

E-Traveler [1] was mentioned in EPICS meeting in 2015, 2022 and 2024 regarding its application in accelerator control systems. I also see new projects starting to use it on GitHub recently. It seems that E-Traveler is very useful during facility construction period.

Recently, I started rewriting E-Traveler using modern tech stack. From a developer's perspective, I can understand it well. However, from the perspective of end-users or project management, I am not clear about its specific use cases.

I would like to learn experiences from other sites or facilities regarding E-Traveler. My specific questions are as follows,

1. In which scenarios do we need E-Traveler?
2. Which types of data is E-Traveler typically used to record?
3. Which devices' data is typically recorded?
4. Is the "Discrepancy log" feature frequently used or not?

5. Is the "File upload" feature frequently used or not?

Any experience sharing regarding E-Traveler is appreciated.

Thanks,

Lin
