Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hi William, I used a similar workaround some years ago. I kept the status bits in an mbbiDirect record and used a separate mbbi record whose state strings (ZRST, ONST, TWST, etc.) served strictly as labels for the corresponding bits. This avoided creating a separate PV for every bit just to provide a name. For reference, here is the DB file: https://github.com/jeonghanlee/danfysik-mps8500/blob/master/mps8500App/Db/mps8500.dbFor bits that require independent alarms or processing, using separate bi records is still the better approach. Best regards, Han
Is there a way to provide individual descriptions for each bit in an mbbiDirect record?
Thanks
