Hi all,
A quick reminder for anyone planning to attend the 2026 EPICS Developers Meeting and Codeathon at BNL, October 19–23.
Please make sure you complete the meeting registration by September 28:
One important point about access to Brookhaven: all attendees who do not already have an active BNL guest appointment/Guest Number should register with the BNL Guest, User & Visitor (GUV) Center, including U.S. citizens. Non-U.S. citizens also need to complete the Brookhaven Lab Guest Form by September 28 and be approved in GIS before participating. The event-specific instructions are here:
A few notes on accommodations and transportation: Long Island public transportation is not particularly useful for getting to BNL.
The full hotel list is here:
A few thoughts from me:
  • Home2 Suites in Yaphank is very close to BNL, but there is not much around it.
  • The Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn in Medford are reasonable options and are closer to restaurants and other things.
  • Danford's Hotel & Marina in Port Jefferson is a pretty nice option if you would prefer to stay somewhere with more restaurants, shops, and things to do in the evening. It is about a 25-minute drive from BNL according to the accommodation list.
Since several people will likely have cars, I also set up an optional carpooling sheet. If you are willing to give people rides, or if you are looking for a ride between your hotel and BNL, feel free to add yourself:
Hopefully this makes the logistics a little easier. Looking forward to seeing everyone in October!
Cheers,
Kunal
