All,
I don't think this is an EPICS issue but I am asking in case anyone might have related experience.
We have a four channel XSPRESS3, which is 10+ year old. This has the older hardware format in which a single card hosts up to 8 channels. This past January I updated the IOC from the original IOC to
the build_xspress3.py script at the time called out
'xspress3': 'xspress3-2-4.tar.gz'
which is see has since been updates to
'xspress3': 'xspress3-2-8.tar.gz'
The new IOC runs, though the data is sporadically noisier than with the old IOC. Also, we get error messages at the IOC console like:
epics> Received data from wrong channel = 0 at path=0, card=0, chan_of_card=3
ERROR: Received end of frame marker from chan=2. old frame=158 but count=13, not

Received data from wrong channel = 1 at path=0, card=0, chan_of_card=0
Received data from wrong channel = 0 at path=0, card=0, chan_of_card=1

Received data from wrong channel = 0 at path=0, card=0, chan_of_card=1

I see that the messages come from the xspress3 library and not the EPICS source code.
Regards, any help appreciated.
