We are going to have to generate a second Release Candidate, which means the
final release won't happen until after the INFN meeting. This means that if
you have any other fixes that can go into R3.14.10 without breaking anything,
now is the time to commit them (before 1pm Chicago time on Thursday please).
Mark Rivers discovered a serious but subtle bug in epicsRingPointer when
compiled using a very recent gcc and run on an SMP system. He and Eric
managed to isolate this to two instructions being issued in the wrong order
by the compiler optimizer, which Eric has fixed with judicious addition
of 'volatile' modifiers.
I am also about to commit a simplification of the exception classes in
epicsThread.{h,cpp} which should resolve a compilation issue reported by
Kazuro Furukawa on osf-alpha, and Janet will be making a few changes in
configure and src/gdd/Makefile.
