CVS and gnu make are also used at CEBAF for EPICS application
source/release control and development. There are a set of procedures
and tools which have been implemented for EPICS r3.12 application
development at CEBAF. The design of the procedures is adapted from
the work of Bob Zieman, Janet Anderson and Marty Kraimer of APS with
the following major differences:
1. Instead of SCCS, cvs is used as EPICS application s/r control tool.
2. capfast is used to design/create EPICS database for an application.
3. Application production area is configured such the multiple version
of EPICS is supported. (we have to, see, r3.12 has at least 13 versions
so far)
4. Building EPICS databases, sequencers, or vxWorks tasks for an
application is fully gnu makefile driven.
For detailed information, see "CEBAF EPICS Low Level Application
Source/Release Control with CVS" located at:
ftp.cebaf.gov:/pub/epics/doc/llapp/cebaf_llapp_source_release_control.ps
Note: We are moving our EPICS database management towards to OODB.
