I was having the same problem till I discovered that the commands for
build and install (which you will find has problems in some directories)
are duplicated between certain Makefile.Unix's and the RULES_ARCHS in
the config directory. There is a new set of extensions and config files
available as of mid-March that seem to resolve this problem. In the
meantime, if you want to fix the problem, comment out the build
statement in the Makefile.Unix and things should progress normally.
