Hi Bruce,

I don’t think is a a problem of the env variable (it is set correctly)

And neither of the windows firewall (they are also set correctly)

I think is a problem of routing somehow

I can bind a UDP socket with nc for instance

> nc -vu 10.0.7.255 5076

Connection to 10.0.7.255 5076 port [udp/*] succeeded!

test

and listen in the wildcard port

>nc -lu -k 0.0.0.0 5076

 test

Still not clear to me why the issue with epics

Best

Alfio

Hi Alfio,
Check your env variable EPICS_PVA_ADDR_LIST.
If it's set to those IP addresses and they aren't accessible from your host
it could cause those warnings.

Another possibility is that your windows firewall is blocking  those network adapters
from pvget and your IOC.

Cheers,

Hi

I am running epics 7.0.3 release on a debian shell on windows10

When I start my ioc I get this error

…….

Error binding socket 192.168.0.255:5076: Cannot assign requested address.

Error binding socket 224.0.0.128:5076: Cannot assign requested address.

But apparently the IOC is initialized correctly

CA and PV commands (pvget, camonitor, pvmonitor,caput,etc..) works correctly,

I got what I expect.

Only with PV commands I got again the error together with the (correct) output of the command, e.g.

>pvget gnappo:SimulationMode

Error binding socket 192.168.0.255:5076: Cannot assign requested address.

Error binding socket 224.0.0.128:5076: Cannot assign requested address.

gnappo:SimulationMode 2019-09-28 18:45:13.764  (1) YES

Any idea ?

Thanks

Best

Alfio
